Dear Supporting Churches and praying friends,

Acts 16:9 “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. As I read this verse I get a sense of what Paul was going through. He had a desire to go to different places and preach the gospel and start Churches but, God shut those doors and moved him into Macedonia. I have personally experienced this before as well. Six years ago this month I moved from Hico, WV to start a work in Evansville, IN but the Lord wanted me in Erin, TN. Two years ago while we were pastoring at Julien Baptist Church in Gracey, KY I just knew the Lord was preparing us to go to Montana and instead here we are in Nancy. So one thing I have learned is this, there is many places that seem to be wide open and would be a great place to start a work but, when all is said and done the best place to work is where God opens the doors.
The work is doing well but, it is not without its struggles. We continue to have good attendance most every service we have anywhere from 12-16 of course much of that depends on sickness and weather. We have been indoctrinating the people here although for the most part these folks have received excellent teaching before in the areas of good strong meaty doctrine we are now concentrating on more practical areas of doctrine. For instance we have preached on the doctrines of grace and why this should motivate us to be evangelistic and why Church truth should motivate us to greater service.
We went to MS and preached in a revival at Calvary BC in Grenada for Brother Larry Windham and had a great time with his people and on that Wed we gave a report to a supporting Church in Elliott, MS where Cecil Fayard is Pastor. We enjoyed the fellowship and hospitality of both these fine Churches and their Pastor. When we got back we had a message on our answering machine. For time and space sake I can’t go into everything but, we were told that someone wants to buy the building we are in and that if they bought it they would sell it to us for about 9-10,000 more than we would ever spend on it. I told the person that we would buy property and put a double wide on it before we would spend that kind of money. The Lord knows all about it and I wanted y’all to know so you could be praying for us concerning this. As I have thought on this and prayed the Lord has seemed to give me peace about it.
We are looking to try some things that would help us to reach into the community. Such as a newsletter, radio ministry and recording our services. We bought a digital recorder this past weekend and have been playing with it so we can burn it to CD and pass them out to shut ins in the area.
I know this has been an extremely long letter but, I wanted y’all to know some of the things going on so you can pray intelligently with us about some of these matters. Pray for us as we desire to be faithful in our service to God.

Sincerely,

Troy, Terra, and Zechariah McGahan
